Shakespeare knew: “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.”
The bible is more precise: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Ephesians 6:12)
Arabs and Jews could easily live together in peace and serve a goal of mutual prosperity. Evil will not allow it. Palestine is enslaved to a demonically inspired terror group that makes military targets out of its civilians and discourages them from fleeing, in order to maximize casualties and decrease global support for not just Israel, but the Jews. I am horrified for the Palestinian civilians and children who are trapped in Gaza. Unfortunately, Hamas members and supporters are spiritually and ideologically motivated to kill Jews and Christians (the spiritual children of the Jews), and they have the means to do so. They don’t desire a two state solution in Palestine, because there are spiritual powers in operation. Pro-Hamas demonstrations around the world show us that this dark spiritual influence is not as confined to terrorists as we wish. Not enough people are asking why Hamas doesn’t release the many Israeli hostages they’ve taken, to deescalate war and prevent the slaughter of their own people. Christians who are awake pray for these people, that they would wake up and be freed from darkness by Jesus the Son of God, thus cutting off the spiritual powers’ ability to manipulate earthly activities. We pray for these people’s souls. “Love your enemies,” Jesus told us! (Matt 5:43-48) This doesn’t mean we allow them to run rampant and kill people, it means we pray for them–and if there comes a time when they aren’t a threat and they are in need, we show them mercy. This also means we mourn the deaths of their people, as Israel retaliates.
There should be no illusion that Israel is immune to evil influence. It is a country, and governments are usually corrupt and susceptible to spiritual manipulation. Their response to everything in 2020 and 2021 makes it clear that some evil power is pulling the strings behind (or maybe I should say “above”) the state. Their policies and actions during the pandemic were inhumane, and everything inhumane (anti-human) is demonic in nature. But again—what does that mean? It means there is a larger picture, and the spirit that hates Jews can influence the elected government of Israel to do harm to its people. (As harm was done to humans all over the globe the last few years. All humans are made in the image of God.) I am “pro-Israel,” in the biblical sense, and in terms of loving the Jewish people. Nobody can make me hate them for what they think about Jesus, or for being flawed and worldly just like other nations. In fact, I can honestly say I love Israel even more because I know from the bible how much God loves Israel. You can’t be a Christian and not end up loving what God loves. He loves Israel. He also loves Arabs, the Chinese, the Brits, Americans–getting the picture? You don’t love God, and then hate people. But Israel has a special place in His plan, and that’s just how it is.
Having said that, it is possible for a human-hating spiritual entity to influence two sides of a war to bring about maximum destruction. I suspect there are Jewish people filled with hate for Muslims, or whose hearts are calloused towards the civilian casualties in Gaza. There are “good and bad” people everywhere. We see an earthly parallel when weapons manufacturers and dealers profit on the destruction of civilians of both countries involved in a war. Why on earth are countries like America funding Iran and Palestine while encouraging Israel to respond with maximum force? Who profits from this carnage, what do western profiteers have to gain from the pro-Hamas protests around the globe? Are some waiting for another opportunity to declare “emergency acts” and crush democracy, to stamp out the terror groups they themselves fund? Do they want to go to world war? Do they believe they can somehow appease the radical terror threat after using it, or have they not thought that far ahead? Not sure, it could just be mindless evil and destruction, but that multiple players exist is clear. I’m not convinced the human players are hedging their bets with a lot of wisdom.
The spirit world operates like that (maneuvering multiple earthly players against each other), but because God made a covenant with Israel, there is still a special place of loathing in the hearts of demonic powers for the Jews, which gets expressed in anti-Semitism worldwide. Satan loves to destroy, but he especially loves to destroy Jews. The Jews are a peculiar people because they are also a nation, with or without the physical land they historically inhabited. Meanwhile, there are prophecies of Jesus coming to rule earth and defeat evil spiritual powers once and for all. The reason evil spirits hate Israel is because Israel is the nation Jesus is prophesied to return to, to rule the earth from. He’s the present and future King of Israel—who for now, most Jews still reject. This leaves them extra vulnerable and they need our prayers, even that their hearts would not go cold.
There is an influencer online who has been very vocal about the globalist and pharmaceutical agenda the past few years, and has become absolutely berserk in her online attacks against Israel this week. She rightly points out in the midst of the conflict breaking out in the Middle East, a door is being opened for other evils to gain a stronger foothold across the globe. What she doesn’t understand is the evil she fears is higher up than “the globalists,” because it’s spiritual. Evil is happy to use an alliance between Russia and Iran to attack Israel, and happy to use the same alliance to attack America, but also happy to use America to destroy Ukraine (has US involvement saved life or increased death toll? hmm) and to motivate Russia to increase its aggression, to get China to kill Muslims and Christians, to get America to fund Iran and to get all the humans to consume toxic foods and substances and sterilize themselves. Confusing much? No kidding. Do not put your trust in man. Don’t make the mistake of believing that the destruction of any enemy will put an end to all this conflict. Israel is not the new enemy. It’s going to take a miracle to bring about peace.
Biblical prophecy makes it a lot easier for Christians like me, who read and believe their bibles, to be unsurprised by the events unfolding. God gave us a heads up about this centuries ago, and is clear that He’s ultimately in control and will put a stop to all this evil once and for all. The bible is clear that near the end, nation will rise up against nation, allies will devour each other, the earth will be in increasing chaos, but at the top of all of the evil is Lucifer, or Satan—who has a lot of dark spiritual entities and humans under his command—desiring to destroy people and prevent the reign of Christ. Looking at scripture, it is likely that the final Antichrist will come out of the Middle East. For this reason, a partnership between radical Islam and western technocracy seems likely to me. We’ll see.
Jesus will return either way, though. My observations make me expect events on the earth to get weirder, even aside from all the war. I expect witchcraft and talk of aliens/divine beings to increase, depending on the culture, because the days of the evil one hiding his existence are coming to an end, just as God allowing His supernatural power to be hidden is coming to an end. We’re seeing an uptick in deliverance and healings in the west. Also in the west, this new trend of “right wing” influencers promoting psychedelics for spiritual experience will likely increase, and lead many away from the real Jesus but possibly scare many into giving their hearts to Him (to escape the demons they accidentally invite in). AI may start to take on increasingly metaphysical attributes, sparking fear and debate amongst those who don’t understand spiritual things. I expect multiple forms of evil to pop up, technology to be used to exert greater control and to encourage inhumane and perverse ways of living (and if you tend to be right wing, don’t assume Elon will have only benevolent impacts on the world. . .pray for him, scripture shows us that not all good kings finish well), and expect the love of many to grow cold.
But don’t despair! God loves us, and is simply wanting as many as people as possible to turn to Jesus before the end. In the Bible Jesus is recorded as saying, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matt. 10:28) This isn’t meant to make you feel like God is out to get you, or like we are all doomed. (After all–when you give your life to Jesus, you also have the Holy Spirit in you, your prayers are powerful, we are given wisdom and angelic help, power to overcome evil and protection from evil influence. Also, we have a promise of eternal life.) The point is, if you are killed for doing the right thing or for coming to Jesus, that is still much better than turning away from God and going to the place of torment where the evil spiritual entities are trying to drag you. (The Lake of Fire and Hell were created for evil spirits, not humans, but evil spirits are very determined to drag you there with them—it’s a long story.) Remember that the bible prophesies a great falling away, and if you have given your life to Jesus already, “Let he who thinks he stands take heed, lest he falls.” (1 Cor 10:12) If you haven’t surrendered to Jesus yet, go ahead and pray (talk to him), and tell Him if He’s real and reveals Himself to you, you’ll serve Him. Welcome to the End Times, folks. Buckle your seatbelts, and pray for peace to return. Don’t make the mistake of growing weary in doing good. It is right to seek peace, pray for peace, and to act with courage in these times. Perhaps we’ll be spared from what seems to be coming in our generation. After all, we’ve been spared many times before!
